Camp Sunshine, Little Sunshine & Bright Sunshine 2026
Camp Sunshine: The Arc of Wilson County will host Camp Sunshine for five (5) weeks in 2026 for children, ages 8-17, with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities. For a child to attend Camp Sunshine, they must meet the age requirements and must be fully toilet trained to participate in camp (unless CAP support staff remains with the child through the entire camp day including transportation and the necessary supporting aids or your child is participating in Little Sunshine Camp). Children who are habitual runners, special behavioral needs (such as wearing a diaper or not completely potty trained) or children who need a 1:1 will be required to have CAP support staff in order to attend camp.
Camp Sunshine is only for children who are between the ages of 8-17. The child must have turned 8 or be turning 18 by the first day of camp.
Camp Sunshine will be held at First Christian Church, located at 207 Tarboro St, Wilson. We will send out a map with parking and entry information during the upcoming mandatory parent meeting.
Camp Little Sunshine: The Arc of Wilson County Little Sunshine is a 2-week day camp for participants, ages 5-7. Little Sunshine is designed for to promote socialization and emphasize promoting social skills. Although, it would be ideal for kids to be potty trained, we do not require it for this group.
Camp Bright Sunshine: The Arc of Wilson County Bright Sunshine is a 2-week day camp designed for participants, ages 18+. This camp is designed to promote both life skills and social skills. All campers must be potty trained and caregivers are encouraged to join us as we will be putting our skills to the test during our field trips!
Camp Little Sunshine and Bright Sunshine will be held at The Arc of Wilson County.
You must complete a camp application for each child that will be attending camp.
When you get to the payment screen, please put a ‘0’ in the quantity for the camps that do not apply to your application. If you accidentally over pay, we will refund you the difference.
2026 Camp dates & rates:
Camp Sunshine: June 22nd-July 2nd, & July 13th-30th 8:00 am - 3:00 pm, Monday through Thursday $500 per child
Little Sunshine: July 13th-July 22nd, 9:00 am - 12 noon Monday through Wednesday $100 per child
Bright Sunshine: July 27th-August 6th, 9:00 am - 12 noon Monday through Thursday $100 per adult
Camp Sunshine and Bright Sunshine is Monday through Thursday, while Camp Little Sunshine is Monday through Wednesday (transportation is not provided to/from camp).
Payment is due at the time of registration. If you are applying for more than 1 child you can pay everyone once instead of at the end of each application. Once we have reached capacity, we will turn off the payment option and begin the wait list. You will be notified via email, you have been added to the wait list.
