Ages 0-5 (starting August 19, 2025)
Mini Movers*: A weekly program designed to promote social inclusion; Mini Movers combines art, dance, and creative movement with story time. This program provides a fun and engaging environment for little ones to explore their creativity and develop motor skills. Mini Movers is held each week on Tuesdays at 10 AM.
Little Explorers*: Get hands-on with learning! Our Little Explorers program offers monthly field trips that bring our classroom themes to life. Because of limited spots, be sure to register ahead of time to secure your child's spot on the adventure!
Kaleidoscope Kids*: A weekly program designed to promote creativity and imagination through free play! This program provides a fun and engaging environment for little ones to explore their creativity, develop motor skills, and learn all about socialization in an inclusive setting. Kaleidoscope Kids is held each week on Thursdays at 10 AM.
Pre-K to High School (starting September 23, 2025)
Dream Builders*: Dream Builders is a weekly program designed to promote socialization and skill development for Pre-K and elementary students with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). Each session explores age-appropriate topics in a fun and supportive environment, covering a range of subjects from life skills and creativity through educational immersion.
The program is divided into two groups to best serve different age ranges:
Little Dreamers (Pre-K through 1st Grade): Meets weekly on Tuesdays at 3:30 PM.
Dreamers (2nd through 5th Grade): Meets weekly on Thursdays at 3:30 PM.
Bridges 2 Learning*: Bridges 2 Learning is a weekly program for middle and high school students with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). This program is designed to promote socialization and skill development with a focus on successful transitions, from middle school to high school and high school to adulthood. In a fun and supportive environment, participants explore a range of age-appropriate topics, including life skills, creative expression, and educational immersion. Bridges 2 Learning meets on Tuesdays on 4:30 PM.
Parents:
Parents of children in our 0-5 and Little Dreamers programs are required to stay on-site for the duration of the class. During this time, we invite you to our parent lounge for Coffee and Conversation*.
This is a dedicated time and space to connect with other parents who understand your journey. Whether you want to share frustrations, celebrate milestones, or simply find support, this is a place to build your "village" with others navigating similar experiences.
We also host a monthly Coffee and Conversation meeting on the third Tuesday of each month at 6 p.m. These sessions focus on specific topics and provide valuable resources to help you better support your child's unique needs.
Adults: (starting August 18, 2025)
Skills for Life*: Skills for Life is a weekly program designed to boost confidence and independence by teaching essential life skills and social practices in a fun and interactive environment. This is an open group that meets on Mondays at 1:00 PM.
Hope Singers*: Get ready for another season of Hope Singers! Sign-ups open on September 2, 2025, and will close on September 30, 2025.
Practices will be held every Monday afternoon following Skills for Life. The performance date and location are to be determined, and we will share that information as soon as it's available.
Seasonal Dances 2025
Seasonal dances are held on Thursdays from 7:00-8:30 pm at Moose Lodge 2705 Forest Hills Rd Wilson, NC 27893. Dances are free and open to anyone in/around Wilson County with I/DD. Dancers should not arrive before 7:00pm and should be picked up no later than 8:30pm.
Halloween Spooktacular Dance*: October 8th 7:00pm-8:30pm (Moose Lodge) This dance will be for our adult participants only!
A Christmas To Remember Dance*: December 11th 7pm-8pm (Moose Lodge) This dance will be for school aged (K-12) participants and their families only!
These programs are held at here at The Arc of Wilson County, located at 421 Nash NW, Wilson unless otherwise noted.
*These programs are held at no charge to our participants or their families.
In the event of inclement weather, we will follow the guidance of Wilson Emergency Management and Wilson County Schools. If Wilson County Schools are closed, we will be closed as well. This is for the safety of both our staff, our participants and their families.
Camp Sunshine 2026
Applications for Camp Sunshine and Camp Little Sunshine will open on January 12, 2026! Mark your calendars, spots are limited.
Our Community Partners shared programs:
Itsy Bitsy Artist is held at The Wilson Arts Center located at 204 Nash St S, Wilson. This workshop invites parents to bring their children aged 0-4 years to experience the joy of creating art together. The Itsy Bitsy Artist Playgroup offers a fun and engaging opportunity for young children and their caregivers to explore their creativity through a variety of artistic activities. Participants can look forward to a nurturing environment that encourages self-expression and the development of fine motor skills. Classes are free, but limited to 12 participants and pre-registration is required at https://wilsonarts.com/creativehearts/.
Diversified Opportunities is a non-profit organization, dedicated to providing vocational training, job placement, and support for individuals aged 16 and over with disabilities or other disadvantages. The organization's goal is to help these individuals gain employment and achieve greater independence within the community. Each Monday morning, The Arc of Wilson County provides weekly lessons and exclusive program opportunities to the participants of Diversified within a closed group setting.
